Peter Shumlin Supports Death with Dignity

In this video, Vermont gubernatorial candidate Peter Shumlin states in no uncertain terms he supports terminally ill patients' rights to decide to die with dignity.

Next Tuesday, if Vermont voters elect Shumlin to be their governor, this election will likely set the stage for the next Death with Dignity law in 2011 and start building a groundswell of support for the movement throughout New England.

We're watching this race closely. With a Shumlin win we will move forward together with Patient Choices at End of Life – Vermont to work together toward a 2011 Death with Dignity legislative effort.

The race is tightening up, but with statewide support and major papers' endorsements, Shumlin is maintaining his lead. A new Death with Dignity law in Vermont will establish the foothold for a larger movement throughout New England and the east coast.
